Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how the Merozella Bistro website, operated by (“Merozella Bistro”, “we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.

In short: our website does not currently place any cookies on your device and does not use tracking technologies. The sections below explain this in more detail.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, to measure how websites are used and to show advertising. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called “first-party” cookies; cookies set by other organisations through that website are called “third-party” cookies.

“Similar technologies” include browser storage (such as local storage and session storage), tracking pixels, web beacons, device fingerprinting and scripts provided by third parties that collect information about your visit. In this policy, “cookies” refers to all of these technologies.

2. How this website uses cookies

At the date of this policy, our website does not set any cookies and does not use browser storage or other technologies to store information on your device or to track you. In particular:

  • we do not use analytics or statistics tools;
  • we do not use advertising, remarketing or conversion-tracking tools;
  • we do not embed social media buttons, maps, videos or other content from third-party platforms;
  • we do not load fonts, scripts, stylesheets or images from external content delivery networks – all of these files are served directly from our own website;
  • our reservation form does not save the information you type; it only prepares an e-mail in your own e-mail application.

The website uses one small script of its own. It opens and closes the mobile menu, scrolls the page back to the top, lets you drag the photo strips with a mouse and loads a file from our own website that contains our company name and address. This script does not store anything on your device and does not collect personal information.

3. Categories of cookies

Websites commonly use the following categories of cookies. For each category, we explain whether our website uses it:

  • Strictly necessary cookies – needed for a website to function, for example to keep a shopping basket or a login session. Our website does not need or use them.
  • Functional cookies – remember choices such as language or region. Our website does not use them.
  • Analytics cookies – count visits and measure how a website is used. Our website does not use them.
  • Advertising and social media cookies – track browsing across websites to show personalised advertising or to connect with social networks. Our website does not use them.

4. Third-party cookies

No third party places cookies through our website. Our website hosting provider delivers the pages to your browser and keeps standard server logs for security purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy; this does not involve cookies on your device.

When you use the reservation form, your own e-mail application or webmail service opens. If you use a webmail service, that service may use its own cookies under its own cookie policy, which we do not control.

5. Why we do not show a cookie banner

Privacy laws, including the GDPR, the EU ePrivacy rules and Canadian privacy law, require websites to ask for consent before using cookies that are not strictly necessary. Because our website does not use any cookies or similar technologies, there is nothing to consent to, and we therefore do not show a cookie banner.

If we decide to introduce cookies in the future, for example to measure visits, we will update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is placed on your device. You will be able to change your choice at any time.

6. How to manage cookies in your browser

Even though our website does not use cookies, you can control and delete cookies for all websites through your browser settings:

  • Google Chrome – Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies, or Delete browsing data;
  • Mozilla Firefox – Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data;
  • Apple Safari – Settings (Preferences) › Privacy › Manage Website Data; on iPhone and iPad: Settings › Safari › Advanced › Website Data;
  • Microsoft Edge – Settings › Cookies and site permissions › Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Menu names can differ slightly between browser versions. Blocking all cookies may affect how other websites work.

7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal. Because our website does not track visitors, it treats every visit in the way these signals request.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy if the technologies used on our website change or if the law requires it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
